We are engaged as a specialist subcontractor on projects where getting the ceiling and the lighting wrong is expensive. Our work covers the full path from design intent through engineering, authority approval, procurement and installation to handover and maintenance.

The argument

A luminous ceiling is three problems at once.

Package A Ceiling contractor Membrane, perimeter profile, plenum depth, access panels.
Package B LED supplier Module pitch, binning, diffusion layering, driver selection.
Package C Controls integrator Protocol, dimming curve, scene programming, commissioning.

Three warranties, three programmes, three sets of shop drawings. When the ceiling scallops, the ceiling contractor blames the LED supplier, the LED supplier blames the control system, and the main contractor sits in the middle of a dispute with a delayed handover.

01 Stretch Ceilings Translucent / backlit Matte & satin Lacquer Acoustic microperforated Mirror Printed 3D free form A tensioned membrane in an engineered perimeter profile. Simple in principle. Delivering one backlit, on a curve, in a building that must satisfy Civil Defence is not. The differentiator is backlit engineering: uniform luminance with no visible hotspots is a function of LED pitch, spacing to depth ratio and diffusion layering. Get the ratio wrong and the ceiling looks cheap from day one and cannot be corrected after installation. 02 Fibre Optic Lighting Star ceilings Submerged & wet area Side emitting Chandeliers Membrane integration Fibre separates the light source from the point of light. One remote illuminator feeds thousands of tails. The commercial argument is maintenance: one light engine, one access point, one lamp change for thousands of points, and no electricity at the point of light in a wet area. Star density is the decision clients cannot visualise from a specification, so we show it comparatively. 03 Architectural Lighting DIALux evo Relux AGi32 EN 12464-1 TM-30 DALI-2 / DT8 KNX Casambi Lighting design as a genuine service, not sales support for product supply. Photometric calculation, false colour verification, fixture schedules, shop drawings, site aiming and commissioning. This is the credibility engine. A company that holds a technical conversation about photometrics and control protocols is believed when it says it can engineer a backlit ceiling. Reverse the order and it does not work.

01 Pre tender advisory Interpretation of design intent, buildability advice, indicative budgeting before the package is priced.
02 Design development Concept development, photometric calculation, system selection, value engineering alternatives that hold the design intent.
03 Engineering and shop drawings Setting out drawings, section details, profile schedules, panel layouts, seaming strategy, RCP coordination.
04 Services coordination Interface detailing with MEP, sprinkler, HVAC, AV and joinery packages.
05 Authority submittals Material submittals, fire certification packs, Civil Defence approval routing.
06 Samples and mock ups Physical samples and full scale mock up construction for client and consultant sign off.
